Should i move the forum!?

I have my forum in root / . I want to change that and put everything in url/home .

I dont have much experience, just enough to get by and do some installs and etc. Would it be wise to move the forum into /forum so I can have a better homepage? Or should I do this:

When people type in the main www.truckmountforums.com it will redirect them to like www.truckmountforums.com/index/ and then there will be some tabs to click on blog or forums and etc. Would that be a lot easier or?

Whats your opinions..
