I bought/installed vbulletin when it was 3.6.4 and because I have so many plugins and template modifications I've been scared to death to upgrade.
But now I think the tmie has finally come to upgrade to 3.7.1. I'm a newb, and have never upgraded before. I just want to make sure I get this all done right. I've contacted my custom style designer and he has agreed to upgrade my template so it's compatible with 3.7. I'm just confused how I upgrade? Like when it comes to plugins, because some of them won't work on 3.7. 1. Backup database and files 2. Disable all plugins? 3. Upload new files into the same directory, and overwrite all old files 4. Modify the config 5. Run the upgrade.php 6. Install newly compatible 3.7 style 7. Enable plugins 1 by 1 to see if they work Is that right? When I install my new 3.7 style, is there any way to retrieve all the template modifications I've done on the 3.6.4 style? |
