When I backed up my VB for the first time....I just clicked "GO" with the option "Yes to all" used. A .sql file was created and I saved it to my hard drive on my computer. Then, I looked below and saw I could save the backup to a place in the root of my server for VB. Should I do both...or, do I need to do both? Was saving the file to my computer sufficient? Meaning everything done (threads/posts) to date is save there and can be reinstaed if needed? I know..dumb question But I wanna make sure I don't lose all my hard work. Thanks in advance.

I suggest you should never try backing up and storing the .SQL on the server anywhere coz it becomes open to anyone and can be easily downloaded who gets to know the exact link..
Keep it in your PC instead.. If still, you'd like to store it onto the server, rename the .SQL to a complex name and protect the folder where you are keeping it. |

Very good....thank you very much. I can rest easy...I plan on keeping it on my hard drive and then once a month putting it on a disc in case my computer takes a crap. Thanks again. Take care.
