Have a problem with a group of people that keep joining my forum and posting porographic images in Posts (nice since my forum is www.disney-forums.com )
Anyway I added a mod that requires a user to have 10 posts before pictures and links can be in threads (so if nay posts are made before having 10 posts and they contain [url , www, http ...etc the post gets put into moderation for me to look at to either approve or delete. Now they decided to create posts and are using the attachment function. Any recommendations on how I can put a leash on this to prevent the same thing from happening? |

mann.. you got enemies it seems !!
1. I think, it cannot be a mass/group of people. It must be some ONE (or two). 2. Notice his IP and block it. 3. Keep blocking his IP and Username both (He won't register for his lifetime). 4. I think, you haven't enabled email authentication. Turn it ON and require unique email addresses and disable posting of Users awaiting email confirmation group. By this, he'll have to confirm his email address before posting. This is the best option. Turn it ON !! |

Oh yes it is one person - a disgruntled past member that we booted about 6 months ago.
I do have email confirmation enabled but he keeps registering different yahoo accounts and I have blocked the IP but it seems it is a different IP everytime |

phew.. i don't believe.. there exist people like this !!
if he can take toooo much pain to ruin you.. then you should and must at atleast take the pain of blocking his IP's and username's. He won't be registering forever. Also.. if he has a dynamic IP.. why not block the entire range of IP's he's registering from. Go to AdminCP->User Banning Options->Read the INFO there on Banned IP Addresses->BLOCK his range. |

Another solution...
copy the Registered Usergroup - copy the group itself and the forum permissions for that group. I'll called it "Registered 2" here. Now set a promotion for the Registered Group to the Registered 2 group after 10 posts (or something like that - maybe 10 days, whatever). Now set the Registered Usergroup to have their posts moderated (Follow Forum Moderation Rules > No). Now when he registers, you must approve his posts. Don't. After a while, he'll get sick of this and go away and you can set the Registered Group back to no moderation. (I have this set up for this sort of case, but have it 'off' right now.) |
