This is caused by using alpha transparency, which IE cannot handle correctly. Search Google for the patch.

I wish IE would shape up like FireFox. I used to be an IE freak and would never even think of switching over. But then I started seeing a lot of errors in IE7 and 6. Had to switch to FireFox. Wasn't hard to convince me that FF is the best browser out of the two.

I could be wrong, but I think you just need to grab that code and save it as a php file in your web root to allow it to fix any png transparency problems on IE5/6 etc.
