I've successfully set up a new VPS for my vBulletin forum: debian etch, litespeed, mysql, php5, vB 3.7.0 Beta 3 (All the most recent versions). My VPS has got 300 MHz & 300MB RAM dedicated. When installing new packages, my CPU usage often raised above 80% & all management tasks went pretty smooth.
Now I've imported my sql database & am updating counters. Both intensive management tasks, I'd assume, but my CPU usage nor my RAM usage raises one bit. I'm doing 2 updating counter tasks atst & the CPU usage is still stable at 15%. Problem is, the tasks are done incredibly slow, a lot slower than on my shared webhosting account... Anyone know how I can increase its speed? Or at least use the VPS to its full potential? |
