Hello. In preparation for the new 3.7 release, I thought it would be a good idea to set up a test board.
I copied all of my files to /public_html/test/forum, and created a new database (forumtest). I then restored my existing database to the new one, so that I would have an exact duplicate of my board. In /test/forum/includes/config.php, I changed the database name to the new one and changed the username/password. I changed the cookie prefix to something different. I also changed the "Full Path to Forums Directory" entry. Everything seemed to be working fine. I now have a duplicate of my board. However, when I try to log in to the AdminCP, it comes up with "Thank you for logging in..." and then takes me right back to the log in screen. I uploaded the tools.php to my AdminCP directory, and reset the cookie domain. I also tried the "Reset Admin Access" option. I still can not get in the AdminCP of the test board. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for your help. |

First of all, there is not need to set a forum directory, please reset.
Other then that, using tools.php should fix your problem. Reset the cookie Domain and Path to the default values. |

Did all of that...still have the problem. Opened a support ticket on vB.com. They have no idea either.
I have decided to do it the hard way. I just did a fresh install of vB on the test site, with new database. I am now in the process of reinstalling all of the MODs on the test board. |
