I want to use my vbulletin forum as a technical support resource but i want to limit it to our customers (ie. someone buys our product - we give them a login)
Anyone ever set this up? Suggestions on an easy way to implement. Basically it would be a private resource that we grant persmission for. If you are not confirmed as our customer there is no access. thanks for any help 420 |

Simply set in your options not to allow any new registrations, and create your user manually in admincp.
Or if you use your vbulletin for your sales, set a new usergroup as customers and only them have permissions to see. Others will only see info about your products |

will the thread topics still be viewable? I would like search engine crawlers to still see this stuff...

I am not sure it does that by default. But there are some hacks that allow the display of those threads, like a teaser. And of course, when they click on it, if they don't have permissions they will not see it.
