Default Finding when a member viewed a thread

I have had a problem very recently on my small forum where a "spy" viewed somewhat sensitive information that is only visible to registered users and reported it to someone else. I am able to view a list of the users who have accessed the thread and I am attempting to narrow down the list of suspects. I have a relative time frame in mind -- is there any way to determine when exactly certain members have viewed the thread?

Also, can anyone else think of any way to narrow down the list of potential suspects?

Thank you very much.

There is no way to track down a guest after they have left the thread.

That's okay, I don't need guests, just registered users. As I said, it had to have been a registered user on the site.

So you're saying a registered user told someone who is not registered what is in a post of a forum that is only visible to registered users?

If so then you still have no way of tracking them down. You could install "Who has read this thread". I have it installed on my site but I used conditionals so only I can see it.

Essentially, yes.

I have that mod installed. It's what's given me the list to begin with. I'm hoping to narrow the data down to something more useful.

vbulletin doesn't keep records of when someone viewed a thread or post. If the user posted it on another site try searching google with keywords that should be in the post. It would need to be indexed in google though.

Okay, thank you. Is there anything else you (or anyone) might recommend to narrow down who leaked the information, aside from a good set of detective skills?

I can't help you find the person but I can tell you how to make it a little harder.
Create a new usergroup called "Level 2 Users" (just an example). Give them the same options as "Registered Users". Create a new promotion where "Registered Users" have "25" posts to be moved into "Level 2 Users" as a secondary usergroup . Edit the forum permissions for the forums where the user needs to be registered.

That's not a bad idea, Harmor. I will look into that -- thank you.
