Multiple Forums, Impression

Hi, just wondering if there is a way or what is the best way to create an impression of multiple forums from within one vB installation. I understand that one way could be to create seperate forums/categories per, would it be possible to give each part a distinctive look ?

Also does anyone know of any mods/template edits that would help with this ? Or you think i should have a look at.
