Message Text doesn't show in Threads

I am importing a database of a bulletin board that was created using proprietary software, so ImPex doesn't work. I imported the data manually for those fields that I had data to provide. However when I look at my vBulletin forum, it doesn't show the text inside the messages. The threads all go to their proper main forum, and they are correctly linked to the original users. The users imported fine and will work for me. The text for the messages is in the "Post" database table under the fieldname of Pagetext. When I look at the forums, the ones I have imported data into are marked "Closed". Is there some configuration I am missing here? Or does some kind of indexing maintenance need to take place. I have performed all the maintenance taks for the database related areas of my forum, and the results show as being OK, but I can't read any text. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
