Is there a definitive guide to moving your main directory from a subdirectory to your main directory?

Any advice or stuff to look out for?

I currently use a CMS in my main directory and plan on moving it out of the way and move my forums to the home directory....

Any suggestions?

Well that is a very easy thing to do. just change the forum url, take of the /forum pretty much. adjust the path to board such as from /home/xxxxx/public_html/forum/ to /home/xxxxx/public_html/

Move all files on forum directory to your site's root directory.
