My server was hacked!

Well, as I was working on some service requests on my demo site, everything went offline. My ftp wouldn't work, my pages are not showing up. Everything is down. So I refer back to my Web Hosts website http://www.influxhost.net/. When I see this page it shows just a blank white background with black text displaying this message.

InfluxHost has been hacked! All of the accounts, files, and databases on servers 64.191.19.181 and 70.85.49.148 have been permanently deleted.

Now I have to figure out what I am going to do about my hosts. I need to figure out how I am going to finish all the custom scripting and coding I was doing for my clients. All my hard work has just been lost. I do however have a few of the important files backed up, but this just makes me extremly mad!

This can't be happening.

Does anyone know any reliable hosts that support php, mysql, etc. I need more than 10 mysql databases, 1 gb hdd space, 15+ gb transfer, 10 email address. Please post your favorite host!

Hacking is a sad part of life. The best you can do is upload your most recent backup and try to work from there.

As for as hosting I highly recommend www.hostgator.com. The best I have used yet, and I have been around for quite some time. Also, it sounds to me that your host isn't all that reliable, probably some really small host that you got hooked into by a friend or something, Google doesn't pull up much information on them. Be sure to do your research before having just any old hosting company manage your site!

I have been with them for 5 years. I paid $80.00 USD a year for hosting wich included:
unlimited mysql database's
unlimited addon domains
unlimited pop3 email accounts
2 gb space
30gb transfer

This is a big dissapointment. Hopefully they have server backups.

Generally, any reputable host should make daily server backups.

Hardly any host makes daily server backups. Too time consuming and resource.revenue intensive. You'll be lucky to if hosts make weekly backups anymore due to the amount of over selling that goes on.

Dont count on his host having any backups, if they cant secure their own servers. (not saying its the hosting companies fault but most the blame rests on them)

The last 3 days, i've been reciving brute force email warnings at a unusally high rate myself, all/most coming from Korea which may lead me to block a whole nation from access my servers

Sorry to hear you misforutune, it can be a real pain when you lose a lot of work....

I dont backup my servers daily but i most certainly do on a weekly basis, its set on a cron job so i dont forget.

I also have a couple of accounts that have paid for the service of having there sites backed up
daily.

I do not overpopulate my servers so i can do this

Hardly any bargain hosts make daily backups. I pay a premium price for premium quality and I get it. Including daily backups. Anyone looking for a cheap host should expect to get exactly that.

Yes, they restored the influxhost.net website. But as far as I understand that is the only site running on there servers at this time. I found a new host and I will move forward with them.
