Hello !
I was wondering if there was a way to change the default usergroup ( registered user ) on signup to a new usergroup. Any file edits I believe ? |

Thats not the point.
The userid remains the same, that way. I would like so put the new registered users in a completely different usergroup ( so that they have different permissions, etc. ) Anyway to find some code doing this : new user register, put in usergroupid=2 ?? |

Why not just make use of usergroup promotions? My new members are put right into the default registered users group which has limited access on certain features. After they hit so many posts they are moved into another usergroup via the promotion system which then allows them to "see what they've been missing".
