Whitespace stripped from source in parts

I'm on a mission now, trying to figure out what's up with the source on DB's site. You can see the discussion in this thread:

I'm thinking that the player is hosed because if you view his source, it looks like so:

While mine, which works, looks like so:

Page compressor isn't installed, so I'm curious as to what would cause his code to get bunched up like that?
