I'm working on porting a hack that has multiple settings within a couple setting groups and I'd like to have them be part of the normal vb Options and not have their own navpanel since they'll be used so rarely once set and it would be wasting real estate on the nav panel.

edit includes/xml/cpnav_vbulletin.xml , if I understood the question.

No, I don't want to (and don't think I need to) edit the cpnav xml file to add additional settings to the options file.

Do you want them to be settings in vB Options or options in the nav groups?
If the latter, you need to either edit the cpnav_vbulletin.xml or add your own custom cpnav_mycustom.xml. If you do your own, it will create new navgroups. |

I figured it out. It isn't easy, but I figured it out..
To add new settings you have to insert them manually using a program like phpmyadmin. Each setting goes to the setting table, and you should create a setting group on the settinggroup table. Then create phrases for each setting in the phrase manager. Takes a LONG time, but it works. I'll need to write an installer to automate this - it takes too long to do otherwise. With this in place I'm probably a few days from releasing my next big hack - vSpamscan, a system to block comment and trackback spam from vbulletin powered messageboards. |

Just enable debug mode on the board - the ability to add new options is built in, but only active when debug mode is on.

How do you see if debug mode is on
I added $debug=1; to the configfile but nothing happens |
