Have you tried making the board viewable to licensed people?

I know some people were talking about how some people with no license view the board & then request the hacks at piracy sites.

What you suggest is in good intent, and I thank you for trying to think of new ways to prevent piracy.
However: The ones that get the hacks for piracy sites are licenced, and they often post list of recent hacks so people can request info and zips.
I know so much because I venture to a few sites myself, yet I am licenced :P

So Im sorry to say but there would have to be some method of encryption involved if piracy were to be shut down completely.

Encryption. Authentication has already been given when purchasing a license. Encryption will ensure that the authentication is indeed carried out.

Anyway, I dont believe we should do this to hacks, we should do it to vB Releases.

If there weren't any nulled vbs around, people wouldnt come here and as a licensed user to grab hacks for him.

Anyway, theres always a way around. But encrypting vB is not good IMO. I mean, its not good to have the code encrypted because doing so, vb.org wouldnt exist.

I believe this issue has already been discussed by the developers of this product.

If vBulletin was encrypted you wouldn't be able to modify it as much. Such encryption has been debated many times and it all comes down to the modification community as to why it isn't done. The benefits of visual source outweigh the negatives for the most part.

vbSEO has already been cracked, btw.

There are people that can crack encrypted software with no problem. In fact, there are programs you can apparently download to do it.
