Has anyone had any good results within the Requests For paid services forum when looking for VB Coders?
Not everyone posts followup/feedback from the original request post and with no proper feedback system it is almost impossible to review resources unless they respond to your request with a portfolio... I also find that it is easy for developers to miss your post if they are not checking the site daily which can be the case if they have alot of work on their plate... Or its just too hard to search through existing posts to see if there was feedback. I have personally tried and got a few PMs from ppl with not enough reviews or ppl that were initially interested and backed off or stopped communicating... I don't want any PM spam from designers or coders plz... It would be good for ppl to post replies with good feedback on custom coding work that required a competent VB coder... not just someone who helped installing a hack... Thanks guys... I wish VB.ORG put some effort into the paid services forum... They can take the business model like SitePoint and make money or do something like scriptlance and just have it VB centric... Can't find any other site that has alot of VB coders/developers doing freelance work... |

Not sure what response you are expecting, especially as this is posted in the lounge. If you are looking for a reaction from staff, you should have posted it in the Site Feedback forum.
![]() We have no intentions to market the Paid Requests forum anymore then it is now, nor do we plan to make money out of such a forum. PS I just had a look at the only recent paid request you have made (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=166054). Some remarks on that: - Title: New Skin design and code required First of all there are not many that offer both designs and coding (and are good at both). By asking for both design and coding in the title, chance is big that 90% of the members will skip the thread. Also reading the title (and worse: reading the thread) give me no clue at all what you need and expect. - The thread content itself. Again no information whatsoever what your request is about. Without knowing your request, you ask a potential coder/designer to go thru the effort of sending in port-folios etc. Why would someone do that knowing that he/she might not even be interested in the work once you tell what it is. Bottomline is that you can do a lot to get more responses by putting a bit more time in writing your request. |

I accept your feedback as good in regards to the post but the main topic is about asking others on their experience with the forum... the suggestion at the end is minor to me... i just wanted other ppls comments... feel free to move this thread to the other forum... a more visual or searchable feedback system would be great...
I won't go into detail about my responses...but i got good ones from 2 good coders with good feedback and they were provided more information but never followed up with me or got back to me... and to me its like whatever.... i just want to know what others have experienced... |

the best thing you can do with your question is to make a search... search my username in that forum... you will have like 10 results... not much... but i answered like 150 in the last 2 years, and none was negative... it's just that the clients never come back to comment on the coders jobs, even when we ask them to do so... how could you receive a feedback?!... usually when the site requires payment for each ads posted, the clients come back... but here is free, nobody cares, really... they are satisfied, so they do not come back to complaint.

ive usually had good experience and the ones who completed the work i stay with. But in saying that there is a lot of scam people out there who would like nothing better to do than rip you off but i suppose thats works both ways - coders also dont get paid for doing the work.I agree though vb.org needs to implement a feed back system and its been asked for many times but they simply dont listen to us mere users on here.
Here is the coder i use and have used on many occasions and never had any problems with : Eikinskjaldi https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/member.php?u=130702 |

Hi Mate,
I have used the paid services a few times. One of the coders that created a mod for me we keep dealing with, he is excellent. Not the fastest person, may take a couple of weeks with his busy schedule but he is always helpful. We also have a tab with him, so after a few things are done we pay them all off at once. I think he is called TheRed here on the forum. Another individual we had a shocking experience with and I have never seen something so unprofessional. First off he coded the modification not to how we requested, infact nearly an exact opposite function of what we wanted. Then after installing 6 different versions of his modification not working he got annoyed claiming we didn't let him "try." After the 6th version of the modification not working we felt enough was enough. So mixed bag of lollies, but generally the coders have been good. Regards, .Joel |
