Hello. I currently have a working vBulletin forum. I'm working on a Joomla site and I would like to add my forum to it in the future. (In a week... lol) For things to work best I need the two separate software packages to play nice with each-other, and share their information. This is my call for help to see if any other users out there who have figured this out could possibly help me. This is what I know, and what I have done so far.
I have Joomla setup, and the site is working pretty well right now. To make Joomla talk to vBulletin I did my VERY best following the *not so great* instructions on how to install the "com_connector" hack on this website. After several problems, I finally have the "vbulletin_sql" module installed and working. The two sites are connected via the main menu and more or less they appear together. Now, my "admin" account created during the Joomla installation process has also appeared on my vBulletin forum, and I'm able to login (forum & joomla), using the admin account created by Joomla. Now for the problems... --> If I login via my Joomla site, and go to the forum, I'm not logged in automatically. I have to re-login. Does anyone know whats happening here, and how I can fix it? (thought) --> Because my admin account appears on vBulletin I guess I have some sort of a connection established, even though the fact that I've logged in on the Joomla site doesn't carry over to the vBulletin forum. (((After refreshing cookies and everything))) I tried logging in on vBulletin, using my admin account (created by Joomla), after going to the Joomla site I created I'm not logged in either... So the login connection does not work either way... Is there an extra plugin I need to install on the vBulletin side that will make this work? (((After refreshing cookies and everything))) I attempted to login to the Joomla site using an account on our forum, and I was given this error... Quote:
