OK so strange problem
My current vB and database are running on quite an old system mysql 3.23.58 I'm using the following command to backup the DB contents into a text file mysqldump --opt -c --all --extended-insert -u hinch -p hinch_main > faSQLdump.sql Now the machine I'm trying to move to is 4.1.15-Debian_1-log when i try to import the database using mysql -u root -p faold < faSQLdump.sql I get a nice little error ERROR 1064 (42000) at line 514: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'group varchar(16) NOT NULL default '', online int(1) default '0', last_onlin' at line 12 I'm assuming this is caused by the way mysql is outputting the backup .sql file in the first place have i missed some flags out I should have put on the mysql dump command? Is there a better/easier way of doing this migration? |
