I am looking for a decent price FTP Server that is secure for our Windows 2003 Server. Can anyone give me any suggestions? I havent found any below 300$.

What do you mean secure ?

Windows Server 2003 comes with a built-in FTP server (and Web, SMTP, NNTP, POP3 Servers).

Is that just his irrational opinion based on hype, or does he actually have any evidence to back it up ?

FTP (as a protocol) is not even remotely secure anyway - so worrying about the server is a bit OTT.

Id assume his basis is on the security of IIS and FTP as a whole.

I used the Gene6 FTP server software when I used to host gaming servers. It's pretty easy to setup and they claim that it's fairly safe. I tried using the FTP software built into Windows 2003 Server, but I could never get it working properly...
