I need someone to clear this up for me.
Adding a hook I selected a hook location. What I want to do is add content from another query to each post. With that Im assuming I need to use hook location 'showpost_post' then write my code. What Im looking to do is a reputation hook where it will show what other users have posted about that user post from the reputation input. As I will want the putout to show up under the user text in their post do I have to change the template style to manage that? I have noticed on older hacks for 3.0 they created 1-2 template styles, and then edited the code. As Im in 3.5.2 Im planning to just write a hook and do some light template editing/adding, but I dont know how to trigger the code where I want it to show in the page or trigger the addition templates that will encase the output. |

you trigger any new templates in the blah_complete hook (where blah is the page eg showthread or forumhome or whatever) Then create the new template and put $templatename in the original template where you want it to show

showpost_post is the incorrect hook location. You will still need to look at the code to determin the context of the hook location to see if its suitable.
The hook you're probably looking for is postbit_display_complete. |
