Hi we are evaluating this forum for use into our current systems.. a couple things we'd like clarification on:
We are running Tomcat right now a servlet environment.. and would like to either integrate php into it as a servlet or integrate tomcat into apache with php support. However we have a full schema for logging users into our site and maintaining a session etc. What we would like is a link on our site to the forum, and somehow that link logs the user into the forum with the same login that they are currently logged into our site as. Is that possible through url parameters or through request variables or anything? This is a major requirement we would like.. we aren't interested in having users have to login multiple times once they hit our site. Also is there anyway to stick the forum into a table in a webpage or a frame or anything of the like? Also is there an API or reference for adding users to the forum through MYSQL calls? Our site is 100% written in java/jsp and we'd like to have our own administrative functions to support the forum.. ie add users delete users or even tie them in with our database if possible.. permissions etc, outside of using vb's admin functions. Thanks in advance, David Erickson |
