How many vBulletin installations, worldwide?

Hi,

Is there any information available on how many vBulletin installations there are, worldwide?

Does anyone happen to know how many forums are there, worldwide? (Not just vBulletin.)

I've been googling for a while, attempting to find out, with no success.

-- The number of e.g. phpBB installations also seems unknown. It seems people roughly google for "powered by phpBB" to estimate the number of installations.

(Why would companies keep such information private? If e.g. phpBB or vBulletin has the highest number of installations, wouldn't it be beneficial for them to show how popular they are?)
