Is it possible to empty the searchindex table from vBulletin 2.x before moving it to a new server and restoring it.
I'm trying to move this 2.x vBulletin DB to a new server and upgrade it to 3.7 but the searchindex table is huge. If it can be emptied and rebuilt after the move that'd be awesome, but is the a SQL querey that would allow this? Thanks |

If you are going to be using full text search in vB 3.7 then you can truncate, not drop!, the search index table and just enable full text search in the 3.7 admincp after upgrading.
If you still want to use the vBulletin search, you can truncate the search index table then rebuild the search index in the 3.7 admincp. Note: after truncating the search index table you will not be able to search at all in your forum until one of the above is completed. |
