GoDaddy is now carrying all these new domains that you can buy. The are more expensive than regular domains. Personally, i think that you will get more traffic to your site, if you use a classic domain name, such as dot com.

I always stick with dot com names myself personally. Most people when they look up a domain or conduct a search probably still search for dot com names.

My main site is a .com, but I also have ten other extensions for the name, that I redirect to the .com site.

i use .info on my site because the name was cheaper

yes dot com domain is also preferable by search engines
