So far I host large IP.Board forums but I'm looking into also looking in to allow LARGE vB forums. If anyone that has a large vB forum please give any tips. No need to give tips like run a php cache utility I got a cluster of servers setup each IPB site loads in around 2 seconds sometimes even 1 second cached even posting and such I believe thats good but it took tweaking of the server configurations.
If anyone has a large large 100users online in 15mins or more vB forum I'd love to host it for a few week to see how it performs on my current setup and tweak my setup to host both types. I also from when I tested vB saw that it had the ability to use a secondary (maybe third) mysql server, any benfits? Also I run the IP.Board session table in heap, would same be good for vB? Thanks! Feel free to drop me a pm or email if you want to discuss the tips with me, if there the kind that you can just post thanks in advance I found out I cannot post replys for some odd reason =/ so yea. because I'm a IP.Board host/owner please don't harras me I'm looking into getting a vB license over this summer but even if I did right now my board isn't going to grow past 20members online on avarage in a few months. |
