Are they the little, tiny black ones? They are attracted to moisture and most likely are nesting somewhere in the wall or cabinets. I had a similar problem for two years and discovered that they were coming all the way across my driveway from a wooded area, going up a tree that had water in a knot in the tree, coming back down, going under a old concrete slab into the wall, up two floors and nesting in a window sill that leaked and was providing constant moisture in the wall. I cut the tree down, dug up the concrete slab and repaired the window frame and drywall...finally got rid of them. An exterminator is your best bet.
