Just guessing here, but it could be all the extras you have installed interfering with the style....

You might try reverting the forumhome template and forumdisplay templates (copy the original to a notepad and see if there is something extra to add back like a "top" or bottom" ) ... If you can post a link to that style it would help because then we can view the code... Perhaps make it a child style...
