The code is the same for the same smilie. If someone quotes you he can see the code and use it.

No it does not use lots of disc space.
The bandwidth usage is the same as every normal smilie.
The only concern is the CPU usage, but a forum admin I know with a dedicated server told me it didn't increase the percent at all.
Of course this depends on how much the hack is used by the members
