I am having this problem too and do not know if it is an actual bug or if I'm just not getting the permissions right somewhere. I have comments turned on, but there doesn't seem to be anywhere to distinguish between comments on public entries vs comments on private entries. I, as the administrator CAN comment on private entries, but when I log on as a regular member, I cannot...even though that username has been added as a journal buddy and can view the private entry.

I've looked through the bug tracker and haven't seen anything pertaining to this, but I wanted to ask here first in case I'm just doing something wrong.
