I run fine on VPS.

I think your host screwed up. Copying everything from shared to dedicated format was probably not a good idea.

They should have set up a database there. Dumped your current data into it then had your existing site run from that database to check everything out. Then just copy files over before updating dns.

This could also just be a dns issue if the move just happened.
