I keep getting these in my mysql slow query log. For some reason it is hitting my server hard, causing mysqld to spike the cpu for a few minutes at a time, and causing my server to become unresponsive.

look at those rows examined!

I've had to disable the pager because of this, and my members are not happy about it. That isn't your problem, of course I was just hoping you could give me an idea of why it is doing this.
