Make sure that the sound file is in the correct place, Turned On from ADMINCP/ vB Pager Options, and from your Options.

Change the Sizes of Width and Height of the vB Pager Buddy List Window from the vB Pager Options under your ADMINCP.

I'm not sure if I got you, but vB Pager does not use any JS file, everything comes from the templates!
