Yeah, PM Preview is not for reading or searching, it's for PM management. I'm not good about deleting or filing as messages come in. I let them pile up, and then when my mailbox is almost full, I start to prune and clean things up... filtering through to see what to delete and what to keep.
Now think about how that would work currently. Open window, delete (click checkbox, confirm,) open window, delete (click checkbox, confirm,) repeat ad nauseum. There's no "Next PM/Previous PM" so quickly browsing through contents is a pain. I often try to do this with tabs, opening 20 at a time, and then deleting the PM's I want to trash and just closing the window on ones I want to keep, but even that is a pain.
With PM Preview, I can see a quick blurb of what the PM contains. And delete or keep accordingly.
(IE: it's not about searching for any one particular PM, it's about getting a birds-eye glance of ALL of them.)
I do PM Preview with the pop-up option, simply because to me it looks cleaner that way.
Many, many users have expressed how helpful it has been for them. And many users here know what I'm talking about. For PM's, it just makes sense. In pop-up mode, it blends right in and is not intrusive in any way. It just works.
Seriously; the built-in PM Management of vB is a nightmare, and this hack takes one step in the right direction of SOLVING the problem, in a clean and elegant manner. Why again would it NOT be installed?
