It will not install the modification for you. It will only mark the hack as being installed by you, so:
- The author can see how many people have it installed
- If you post in the hack thread, the author can see that you have installed it.
- You will get a mail if the author sent out an update.
- You have a list for your own reference of installed hacks in your UCP.
