The second one aims at coder<->coder discussion on a technical level.
The idea behind the new forum is that when vb.org started, it was a coders place and all could discuss modifying vBulletin on the same level (ok some would be more advanced then others, but they talked the same "language" and all had the feeling they wanted to learn from eachother).
Nowadays the majority of the vB.org community are non-coders who don't "talk technical". Because of this it is getting hard to discuss coding issues and as as side-effect will also prevent people who are new to vB coding to get the answers they need to get them started.
If you post in the new forum, you will get a technical discussion. We are hoping that it will also bring back the joy that some of the coders had in discussing/learning modifying had a few years ago.
As a community it is essential that we "invest" in our future (ie. help new coders get started, improve the knowledge of all coders by discussion), and this was going downhill without our own coders discussion corner.
Let's hope that this new forum will give a boost to the group of people that are driving this website....the coders.
