This will happen if you did not UPLOAD all of the files first with overwrite via FTP.

If this error occurs, its because you did not upload the specific file includes/xml/bitfield_vbbuxplaza.xml

The bug is in vb's Bitfields creation.

I put in the XML script to rebuild the bitfields, but it does not rebuild them!

After uploading the XML file, goto Admin CP -> vbPlaza Maintenance -> Rebuild Bitfields and it should be fixed.
