ok, i've read over all posts in this thread and will post my results from a dev site.

Only add-on for the dev site at this time is the punch system.
Vb - version 3.5.3
apache 2.2.0
mysql 4.1.16-max
php 4.4.2

I have no issue with the archive and it functions fine.

Only issue im seeing is the attachments are showing regardless of the post count i set in the access options.

Will upgrade to vb 3.5.4 tomorrow if i can get the attachment issue fixed.


Edited to add:
Uninstalled the punch system, the attachments are still viewable by the users with a post count below 10 that i set.
