I need to alter my navbar new posts and todays posts searchs so they don't include a couple of off topic chat forums as some users don't want to return to the forum and have 2 pages of irrelevant junk

I've successfully added the exclude forum bit to the existing nav bar links but would prefer to give the user the option in an additional user option field so they can select inc junk forums in search or excluding it. Can anyone help me with this please??
