I came here and have spent an hour reading old posts in a 39 page thread, trying to find the correct coding, and have yet to find it.
I appreciate you making this hack and if I get it to work, I think it will be a valuable addition, but I don't see why this hack or any other "shouldn't" be updated to go with the latest version of the forum. Granted, you don't have to give any of your time to update it, but it's certainly not "not necessary."

The install instructions were left unchanged (except that I recently replaced the hardcoded text with phrases) since 3.5.0 RC2.
So where is the point in "updating" them when in fact nothing has changed?
Also, $threadmanagement definitly exists in Template newthread.
If it does not, you are either looking somewhere wrong or your template is seriously messed up.
