Is there a way to change it back to the previous method? I want the threads to be generated by the person who triggered the event.

why would you want that? lets say you have the threads created in your admin section if you respond to that thread wouldnt that member get an email with what you just posted on the situation? i know thats what happened to us.

its better the way it is now. in my opinion.
