I am not sure if it inherits the permissions or not. If the majority of your forums and usergroups will have the same permissions, you could always create an sql string and run it to set all of them in one quick swoop. Or even better than that, you could go through the xml file and set the defaults in the xml, that way when you install, you will already have them all set. This is a good idea if you have alot of usergroupsand and if you want the majority of your forums to have the same permissions. It would be easier than changing 140 forums.

However, this method isn't for people who don't know how to do it. You can seriously screw things if you don't know what you are doing.
