I have installed xenon's "forums arranged in columns in forumhome" modification and it's almost what I am looking for. (it's a great mod btw)

I would like to know if there is a mod that will just group the forum categories into columns (see attached picture).

If there is not an existing mod. Can someone give me the proper query or format to pull just the forum top level categories so I may attempt to create a mod that would do this?
