I would like to know if there is a way in VB 3.5.3 to exclude certain forums from showing up when you do get new posts?

I have a selling and trading forrum that I dont want posts within those forums to show up when a member does a get new posts. I dont my site to turn out to be an e-bay site with all these selling and trading activity going on.. You can so this with VB Portal to not include certain threads from showing up in the newest post or recent posts block but how do you so this with VB ?
