Wish I could help, but I know you'll get your answer in just a short matter of time. On my site 420boards.com I have the same trouble in my statistics block at the bottom of the page. I've made changes about 5 times to the max lengths, but it seems like when I fix it due to either long usernames, or long msg subjects, next thing I know something else is too long, so I have to shorten it more.

There must be a way to parse the information and shorten it for display only a little bit. One of these very knowledgable individuals should be able to help you probably by tonight, or you can perform a search because I imagine this same question has been asked over and over.

When you do a search, click on advanced and try searching thread titles instead of just general searching.
