Do keep checking, but don't let this rather small detail hold you back from podcasting! You can go ahead and get started with your casts and update your feed whenever vBulletin moves into the 21st century and starts supporting some RTF container elements for podcasts, videoblogs, etc.
In the meantime: go ahead and create your casts and use something like WordPress to generate the RTF file (it's all set to go for podcasting and will automatically containerize and create an RTF that's ready to go) Later, you can update your feed whenever vBulletin evolves. That's really just the icing.
If you're looking for a site to host your podcast, check out
http://www.libsyn.org (the $5 monthly option is cool and they move your past podcasts to archive at no extra cost so long as you keep paying). Libsyn will even host the blog that will publish your casts, but I'd recommend you use WordPress on your own server just to keep the feed in your domain.
