I've been trying to do this for some time and have finally given in due to lack of knowledge of AJAX

what I want is a button to refresh the thread and show any new posts using ajax, this would nicely help decrease server load on those threads that everyone is constantly refreshing until the update arrives.

i guess the same thing would be awesome for forumdisplay aswell
