I have spent $500 on speakers for my entertainment center and $25.00 on speakers for my computer and really cannot tell any difference in sound quality. The entertainment center just has more speakers for more ambient noise and is capable of higher volumes without ruining the sound.
Oh and you can get up to 2 GB of memory on the Memory Stick Duo. That is twice as much as a iPod Shuffle. Two of them take up less space than a Mini or a Nano.
I should add that I don't plan on buying either. I don't like Sony's proprietary media formats and I don't like Apple restricting you to their music service only. I can see the business reasons for both but as a consumer I don't have to agree with them.

You can even get a 4gb hard drive now.

My opinion is this...
I had bought a PSP when it came out, i also purchased a 1 gig stick for it.
In my opinion, its a waste of money.
Sure, it has a few games, but they mostly suck.
Sure, you can watch movies on it. BUT YOU HAVE TO PAY 15 BUCKS FOR IT! THEN YOU CANT WATCH IT ON ANYTHING ELSE.......
Sure, you can listen to music, but only friggin 1 gig worth....
Sure, it has internet... but it sucks.
in retrospect, psp sucks... ipod is MUCH better

You're right, when the psp came out it didn't have many games, however, there are a nice amount now and more are comming out. Also, i do agree with you on paying $15 for a dvd and only being able to watch it on your psp. However, you can always put it on your memory card. Also, it is only $15, which can help if you're on a long ride or something and need something to do/watch.
