I would like to enable post-by-email functionality for some of my users who are not tech-focused enough to actually use my forum, but are actively involved in certain discussions. I am pushing them to actually use vB more, but it seems that a listserv is the best compromise we've found so far.

I see this as somewhat justified given that lots of people still seem comfortable with services such as Yahoo! Groups and Google Groups as well as with regular email and listservs.

The functionality needed would support the following flow, more or less:

1. User posts a thread, or a PM to multiple users
2. First post of thread gets emailed to all users with access to read it
3. Replies to post get posted as replies to thread, or as PM replies to all PM recipients
4. Deletions result in a notification
5. Post edits result in a re-send of that particular post
